What is the Recipe to Health?

When we think of the word “recipe” we usually think of food. But a recipe is about much more than food.

A recipe is a list of necessary ingredients and equipment. It comes with timely instructions, that if not followed will cause havoc. A recipe tells you how to test and what to do if things aren’t working out. And a recipe always requires that you “do something” – after all, the perfect dinner won’t make itself.

Like making the perfect dinner, perfect health requires knowledge, tools, activity, specific ingredients, testing and often some corrections.

Recipe to Health contains all the vital ingredients and instructions that you need, to create Great Health and Great Food.

Who Wants Health & Wellness?

Health & wellness is something that we all want to feel, every day. Although hard to define health & wellness involves an absence of disease, but it is much more than that.

To have true health & wellness you must have a balance of the physical/structural, emotional /spiritual and nutritional/biochemical self.  Because few of us achieve this on a daily basis, we are at risk of acute and chronic disease.

What is a Chronic Disease?

How do you stay healthy?

A chronic disease is a disease that has been present for 3 months of more. Type 2 diabetics, people with the metabolic syndrome or heart problems, arthritis or cancer have a chronic disease. Symptoms of chronic disease are often not obvious until the disease has taken hold. Tiredness and fatigue are often the first signs of chronic disease. Younger people who don’t have a healthy life style or a healthy diet are also at risk of developing chronic disease. Chronic diseases that are common in younger adults include a yeast candida overgrowth, polycystic ovaries or symptoms of hypothyroidism.

A person with the “average life curve” will develop problems such as type 2 diabetes symptoms by their mid 50’s. So that means the last 20 or 30 years of a person’s life could be spent suffering with a chronic disease. Improvement of health and wellness can be achieved with minor changes to the bad habits.

Why to Stay Healthy

As well as wanting to feel fabulous and have energy to enjoy life, here and now, you need to stay well as you get

A healthy diet and life style promotes Longevity, Health & Wellness

older. Why?  Because chronic disease frequently results in the inevitable hospitalization and doctors visits. This can be costly to your wallet and your long term health.

Research from the US shows us that iatrogenic deaths kill around 999,936 people annually in the USA. These numbers are similar in other westernized countries.  An iatrogenic death means those that are due to medical treatment, diagnostic procedures, or inadvertently by a physician or surgeon. That includes unnecessary surgery, medication errors in hospitals, other errors in hospitals, nosocomial infections in hospitals and non-error, negative effects of drugs. If that isn’t enough to motivate you to stay healthy, think about the impact on your quality of life and your family.

How do we Stay Healthy?

Avoid the "Bandaid approach" to health. Fix the cause not just the symptoms of ill health.
